Fired!
I fired the kiln. It is amazing that so much joy can come from a giant toaster. Is it wrong to love a kiln?

I have regrets
I have a million regrets. That may be a bit of an exaggeration but, give or take, it is true. It is true that I have made mistakes and if given a do-over I'd probably do 99% of those things differently. I have learned a great deal from those mistakes. In my mind it seems like no regrets means no learning; it means I would not do anything differently. No regrets sounds like an excuse not to feel bad, learn, and do better. I think regrets are critical to character building. But, that's just my lil ole pea brain thinkin' way too hard. What is so wrong with having regrets?

gasping for air
Ok, so like I am totally allergic to Oregon. I am being a bit silly, I know, the CA lingo makes me feel better. I am missing the environment I am used to more than ever because I am sick with allergies. I mean really, really sick. And the best part? The medicine is making me sicker. I lost my voice on Sept. 12th. Gone. Zippo. Nada. All from the medicine for the allergies. I have been to 3 doctors....
I am better and the voice is returning.
A lot has happened lately. I went to southern California TWICE. Bought some beads. A friend's wife and another friend's girlfriend were murdered in the Seal Beach salon masacre. Head still spinning over that...
I am actually looking forward to winter in the hope that things in life will settle down and my allergies will take a vacay. I need to get lost in some paint, jewels, and some project runway. Project Accessory? I DIE! (ok, I just squealed out loud...like seriously, omg!) (ok, roll yer eyes, at least I am feelin' better. ;)
dancing all about...cough...cough...sits down....wheeeeez
lovely sight
(grin)
then I get sad again for the people in Seal...sniffle

handy santa and procrastination
What? Expecting some profound statement? Some new gadget? Sorry. I am thinking of painting the hands. If you have read the latest comments (woohoo, I have comments :), then you know I am waiting on a super cool new hand to arrive from one of Jeanette of Everton Terrace's shops. I can hardly wait to show you how many I have now (well, only about 7 but hey, I am 'cited). The pix are from a couple of years ago. Yes, the unfinished pastel sketch is lame, or flame, but I like the Santa and the hands idea still.
She just needed a bigger audience.
I am so weird today. Ok. Everyday. I just usually hide it better.
(grin)
Now, I really gotta go do super icky things.
love paint, hate vet
I have just finished 18 (OMG! YES!) paintings and other stuff....I will post pix but I am up to my earlobes...
I LOVE it when I feel productive and not schleppy. I am really good at schleppy, though. Really good.
PLEASE SAY HELLO TO ME IF YOU VISIT, PLEEEEEEEASE. Thank you. (((hugs)))
Oh and I hate my vet, spent $1000 on dog and have to get a new vet and start all over. The office manager told me that they are barely staying open, the dr makes mistakes on prescriptions.....great. She is his biggest liability...omg...I cant spell that word anymore, thank you god. LOL I am no longer a cfo and am officially an artist now.
no, I have not been drinking.

Freedom rocks aka What in the fuck are you waiting for?
I used to be the CFO of an investment bank owned by venture capitalists. The day after 911 I told my boss, who had just been imported from Wall St. to Palm Springs, that I had always wanted to paint. He said. "What in the fuck are you waiting for?"
So, I quit.
10 years of happy.
How is it that I got the gift of life and so many lost theirs?
It is still really, really, really, really important not to waste a minute.
lol
That was also the same year I met Dr. Wayne Dyer.

months ago
I bought this crucifix in February. I thought it was the coooolest thing ever to use for a necklace along with some French catholic medalions. They are chez magnific. Tres fabu? lol My French is almost as old as I am.
I got it out YESTERDAY to make into a necklace.
This morning I am blog-boppin and low and behold I see another one. I am so blown away.
So, here is what I know about mine:
Antique relic Crucifix Cross. Our Holy Father Dominic. Inside are two pieces of wood and paper on which is written'arboris S.P. Donimici. Wood of the tree of our Holy Father Dominic.
The tree referred to is the organe tree planted in the cloisters of S. Sabina all' Aventino, Rome. The location of one of the oldest known crucifixion scene in the world.
The Crucifix is a heavyweight silver with a wood inlay. The screw at the bottom is missing but it stays closed on it's own. It is about 7/8 x 1 3/8" ( not including the bail).
Fabuness!!

Bee-zee bee me
How do you like this frame? I have been so busy lately. Which is a good thing. I think the first two paintings are done, I do see a thing to fix...but that never ends.

Above is 10x8" below 5x7".
Does this look like a meadow? Do you wonder what is around that bend? Or, not? (shrug) lol
My favorite person. She is my great grandmother. The photo is from around 1912. I like the charcoal and kinda don't want to paint it. This picture is large, 24x18". This one (8x10") is done more or less, gotta remember to sign it. oops.
